All pesticides that are distributed, stored, and commercialized in Indonesia must undergo pesticide registration and obtain permits from the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia. The "Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 43 of 2019" sets forth the latest framework for pesticide regulation in Indonesia. This regulation provides definitions for pesticides, sets the registration process, and establishes criteria for various types of permits, such as trial, permanent, and temporary pesticide permits. Moreover, the regulation categorizes pesticides based on their active ingredients, hazards, and intended scope of use. It also outlines procedures for sample collection, testing, re-registration, and the expansion of pesticide use scope.
